City officials last week announced that retail sales by large enterprises climbed to 11 billion yuan through public network over the first four months of the year, up 2.7 percent year-on-year.

In related news, officials added that local residents broadcast 63,000 live video streams in the same time period.

The live streams collectively capture 160 million views and more than 2.1 million items were sold via the live stream.

The numbers jumped sharply in April, with live streams 25 percent higher than in March.
